The Monday Creek Restoration Project (MCRP) is a partnership of government agencies, educational institutions, non-profit organizations and local residents committed to the renewal of the Monday Creek ecosystem. The waters of Monday Creek have been severely damaged by acid mine drainage, sedimentation and nutrient enrichment.
The restoration strategies of MCRP are geared towards healing this damage by taking a bioregional approach - realizing the interconnectiveness of systems within and outside the Monday Creek Watershed.
