Athens County Park & Ride

As gas prices continue to rise many families depend on finding affordable means to travel to work. Carpooling is one solution. By sharing the ride with others who are driving to the same general area people can minimize travel costs.

Athens County Commissioners, Rural Action and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) are partnering to expand the current system of park and ride lots to encourage carpooling and increase ride sharing opportunities.

Each lot will accommodate up to six vehicles, where commuters can leave their personal vehicles and ride with another. Look for signs displaying this logo.
