Why is
Ohio's
school funding system
unconstitutional?
Mainly because
it relies too heavily on locally raised money,
resulting in extreme differences in available resources
for children in different parts of the state.
The Ohio legislature so far has failed to fix the system. In June 2001,
the state supreme court will once again review the work of the legslature
to decide if the system has been fixed.
