Birds of a Feather
In this ELP Learning Episode, students will learn the basic biology and adaptations of birds in addition to discovering the importance of birds to forest health and to agriculture. Bird observation is always a student-pleaser!



Wild Birds Unlimited!
This is an enormous site all about birds. The WBU mission is "We Bring People and Nature Together" by informing and educating our customers and communities about the wonders of birding and nature. Links on the site include a Junior Naturalist Program, creating habitat for birds and other wildlife, a bird identifier, bird rehab, frequently asked questions, and free email news. http://www.wbu.com/edu/


The Young Birders Program offered by the American Birding Association has information on the Young Birder of the Year contest, Youth Birding Teams, ABA Scholarships, A Bird's Eye View newsletter, Young Birders news, Young Birders Connect, the Young Birders' Conference, Early Birding, and books for young birders. http://www.americanbirding.org/programs/ygbgen.htm

The National Audubon Society website has links to Conservation & Action, Birds & Science, Kids & Education, State Chapters, and Current News among others. http://www.audubon.org/

Birdnet provides information about ornithology, the scientific study of birds. The site is a service of the Ornithological Council, a public information organization involving ten North American professional ornithological societies. The site includes links to each of the 10 organizations, as well as, to information on "What is ornithology," Ornithological issues, Birds and Birding information. http://www.nmnh.si.edu/BIRDNET/index.html

Birding News Around Ohio! This is an electronic journal all about birds and birding in Ohio. Links include Range Maps, Where to Find Birds, Photo-documentation Library, Ohio Birds and Natural History, and More Ohio Birding Websites. You can also link to birding journals for specific areas of Ohio and surrounding states. http://www.aves.net/birdnews/

The Nest is a site all about birds by kids for kids. The site includes information on the best feeders, food for each kind of bird, the best and cheapest bird food and a good place to get it. It also has a really cool bird game. http://tqjunior.thinkquest.org/3879/
